Hello Xbox Wire readers! I’m Yared from Whitethorn Games and I’d like to introduce you to our latest release, princess farmer, Available on the Xbox Store today! Our wonderful friends at Samobee Games have created a cute and colorful combination of visual novel and match-3 with a unique twist on puzzle gameplay.
The story begins with a humble, hard-working rabbit who takes care of a farm. She’s a simple bun that wants nothing more than to snack on a tasty carrot and unwind after a long day at work. Just as she is about to end the day, she stumbles upon a lost tube of lipstick before heading home. That night, she vividly dreams of meeting a powerful bunny goddess named Gaia, who tells her that the lipstick she found was actually a magical artifact. By finding it, she has now become the new Princess Farmer and has inherited the power to grow, replant and combine vegetables – a power she must now use to save the world!
The central puzzle gameplay is to pick vegetables (up to a stack of five) and replant them to move columns of colorful plants up and down. If you line up at least three of the same kind of vegetables, they will match, remove them from the field and move everything down to fill the gap. More points are awarded for diagonal games and combos multiply the score earned. The objectives and mechanics also change from puzzle to puzzle, adding extra variety to the gameplay. One plot may require you to match carrots while avoiding potatoes, while the next may only allow diagonal matches when scoring against a clock. This is the default way to play the game, but when picking an episode, the player can choose their preferred playstyle. Balanced Bun is the default mix of all types, while Puzzle Bun focuses on slower, more methodical targets. And for those of you who value speed and combo chains, Action Bun is the playstyle for you. Plus, if you have a friend over, you can play through each episode in local co-op!
As you progress through the story, you’ll meet other bunnies (and non-bunnies) with unique, equally lovable personalities and traits. Garlic, the first bunny you meet, can talk to animals. Carrot is a genius inventor and creates a robo bun to help you on your journey. Rowan is an antisocial bookworm who runs a traveling hare-dye shoppe. And in this shop you can spend hearts earned by solving puzzles to buy different colors and glitter effects to customize your outfits. These outfits and other customizations can also be earned through gifts at the end of each episode, depending on your relationships with the characters.
If you are a fan of magical girl anime, match 3 puzzles and cute bunnies then then Princess farmer could be just the game for you! You can head over to the Xbox Store to pick up the game and start matching veggies today!
Princess Farmer is a match 3 puzzle and visual novel game with easy to learn action mechanics and different difficulty levels that you can use to race through the game or challenge you to earn more rewards. The story is played out in episodes, much like Magical Girl anime, with each episode lasting anywhere from 20 minutes to 1 hour depending on your chosen difficulty level, skill level, and whether you choose to skip dialogue interactions. Various level objectives will keep you on your toes and bring a fresh approach to the match3 genre. Dialog options allow you to choose how Princess Farmer interacts with her friends and affects your relationships with them. Make them your BFF and they can reward you with gifts! Princess Farmer was just an ordinary farmer when she woke up one day under the Gaia tree. Now, through the magic of Mother Gaia, she can easily pull up rows of veggies to make combinations and smash obstacles by herself, in co-op, or even with an AI companion! Something mysterious is happening in the forest and it’s your job to make your way to uncover it! You’ll learn about the world around you as you talk and form relationships with the lovable characters including: Mother Gaia, Garlic, Shoppe Keeper Rowan and even Bot Bunny!
