While we learned a few months ago that Compulsion Games was working on a third-person single-player narrative game, little was known about it. Today we learn more about Jez Corden and Windows Central, as well as an upcoming title from Obsidian.
Project midnight
To We happy couple, the next game from Compulsion Games is identified as Project midnight. This will take place in a dark fantasy universe. The following images are from concept art created at the beginning of production and show the protagonist as well as some harpy-like humanoids. We also find a construction on a tree that could be a nest for these creatures.
The game would tell a story about growing up and be inspired by the culture of the deep south of the United States. Players will discover a world populated by fantastic creatures that add a Gothic style in addition to magic. Project midnight becomes a complete solo experience with a very strong focus on the story.
Regret
That’s not all, Obsidian is also working on an indie game that is currently known as. is known Repentance also known as Missouri Project. A team of twelve led by Josh Sawyer, the former head of the Fallout New Vegas and Pillars of eternity work on this project. The player plays as an investigator in 16th century Europe against the backdrop of a murder case. The title is inspired by games like Elysium disco and will follow Josh Sawyer’s narrative drafts.
Regret urges players to investigate the characters and make allegations, which will have ramifications for the story if they make a mistake. The title is closer to narrative RPG adventure than a game that focuses on combat. The development of the characters would be done through a skill tree system based on reasoning, charisma, or even observation. It will offer a variety of dialogues and response options to choose from, creating a unique experience for everyone. According to Jeff Grubb, the developers are also investigating some experimental gameplay elements, but they may not arrive before the release, which is currently slated for 2022.
Keep in mind that this information is not official, it is guidance from sources close to the various teams.
