The quarterly gathering for fans of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege took place this weekend. As usual, on the occasion of the Six Major tournament that ended this Sunday, Ubisoft revealed the content of its next season. Vector Glare or Y7S2 (the second season of Year 7) will be coming into play in a few weeks.
On the agenda are a new operator and map, as well as gameplay updates, some advances in the fight against toxicity and new cosmetics.
But before we even get to the heart of the matter, a first announcement concerns the end of the year. Ultimately, in order to offer the most successful new map possible, the Singapore playground will not be released in autumn, but for Season 4 in December.
Six likes meaning
The last agent of siege is central to the game’s narrative continuity and Ubisoft is developing more and more lore around its operators and their various factions. However, this does not (yet?) affect the gameplay. Neon “Sens” Ngoma Mutombo is an Operator from Belgium and of Congolese descent. This attacker represents the Wolfguard faction, led by Frenchman Doc, and is the second to appear in the title after Nighthaven.
His unique ability is to deploy walls of opaque light via a rolling device, the ROU. The device allows the visual separation of entire areas and has the peculiarity of bouncing off the walls. Also, it will be bulletproof but not explosive resistant. The gadget will therefore be a tool of choice to camouflage various actions: a deploy, a retract, a defuse pose, etc.
Among other weapons already known, Sens will be able to carry the new POF-9 automatic rifle, not very powerful but equipped with a very large magazine. He also has access to a choice of Claymores or Heavy Charges. Finally, to logically increase this firepower, the agent is equipped with a large armor capacity, at the expense of a low movement speed.
“Hell is other people.”
Here is the disappointment stage. Far from favoring the license-specific tactical and thoughtful approaches, The new card only does the job it was created for: buff ask. In fact, “Huis-Clos” will arrive next season alongside Team Deathmatch.
The floor will consist of cramped prefabs assembled in the open air, leav ing no room for downtime. Nothing will happen there but an eternal game of cat and mouse, where life expectancy will not exceed a handful of seconds.
It will therefore be necessary to consider “Huis-Clos” as a new way of training to eliminate opponents, like the entire mode. But some will probably not find the usual pleasure siege.

“What do you need? – Weapons. Lots of weapons.”
Bath, Thanks to the brand new shooting range, players can continue with real exercises. This weapon training has the advantage of offering all the characters and equipment of the game, even if they are not yet unlocked. It analyzes damage, rate of fire, recoil, reload time, etc., among other things.
This might give some ideas for changes. As a matter of fact, The game now offers the ability to choose a sidearm from three choices for each agent. So far, they’ve only had one or two choices.
Additionally, Operator Guides will be a whole new database of tips written and video to learn how to master each character. A welcome collection if you know the situations have been there since publication siege in 2015. Originally, the use of the individual protagonists should be described, they actually only represent ten of the existing sixty.
These three new features are aimed at beginners, among others: They effectively offer them easier handling of the title. In addition, Ubisoft continues to improve overall accessibility. New colors are added to those offered for crosshairs, primarily for people with visual impairments. Last but not least, An option allows to dampen or even disable the shocks associated with explosions in the game.
“Don’t you know you’re poisonous?”
Toxic players are always at the center of Ubisoft’s concerns. On the long road to a healthier experience for everyone, the developer is focusing on three things this season.
Next, The friendly fire system will be improved so that a potential severe penalty will last beyond a single game. By doing this, the studio hopes to discourage repeat players.
Later in the season Ubisoft will implement the final version of the mode for all players Stromer. This allows content creators to protect their identity and experience during online gaming. The Match Cancellation function will also gain in ergonomics and precision in the coming months..
SEGA is stronger than your wallet
The final touch, as tradition dictates, is the cosmetic. Japan is in the spotlight this time. In particular, Operators from the Land of the Rising Sun are each getting a new look.
And for the occasion, Ubisoft has signed a new partnership, this time with SEGA. According to Tomb Raider etc resident Evila third famous video game saga appears siege. Agents Hibana and Echo embody the characters of Kaoru Sayma and Kazuma Kiryu, respectively, from the series yakuza. These items are offered in a pack that can be unlocked with 4080 R6 credits, which is around $30.
The latter will also receive a new Elite cosmetic set in the following weeks.

The new content on offer is rather tentative in this new season. The fight against toxicity, for its part, is progressing, but only in small steps. “Vector Glare” appears as a transition phase in this 7th year with a view to more ambitious projects by the end of 2022. This is the price demanded by confidence in the promising announcements made at the previous meeting last February. So more and more patience, but it’s up to Ubisoft to make sure it doesn’t run out prematurely.
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege is still available in Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.
