A remake of the Dreamcast classic Rainbow Cotton is in the works and will soon make the jump to the Xbox.
Rainbow Cotton was originally released for SEGA’s Dreamcast in 2000, but only for the Japanese market. Now the rail shooter is being re-released and is being released for a whole range of platforms. The release is also not limited to the Japanese market.
Cotton, a young witch, plays the main role. She is tasked with flying out on her broom and finding the evil demon Tweed, who stole the legendary Willow Candy.
From May 9th you can play Rainbow Cotton on the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The retro professionals at ININ make this possible.
Rainbow Cotton is the fifth game in a series of titles that are almost exclusively side-scrollers. Rainbow Cotton, on the other hand, always saw itself as a rail shooter. Rainbow Cotton, the sequel to Panorama Cotton, is the first true 3D shooter in this widely acclaimed cute ’em up series.
