If memory serves, the first Alan Wake had some sort of arrangement with Microsoft, but the franchise was and always has been owned by Remedy. In the old days Canceled Alan Wake 2 hardware leak that Microsoft didn’t want to continue and the Finns ended up dropping it.

Interest in relaunching the franchise has always been on Remedy’s part, but it lacked resources and priorities. In fact, there are a lot of nods to the tormented writer that we saw in Control or Quantum Break for example. Last year the studio dropped that maybe we could see more of the game … the statements were as follows:

Finally, you might have heard Alan Wake recount the trailer and appear at the end. Over the years we have included Easter Eggs in our games that tie some of the Remedy games together, as you might have noticed if you were playing Control … but what would happen? it wasn’t just Easter eggs?

What if a plan has actually been in place for over a decade for how some of our games connect, a Remedy Connected Universe, so to speak, and the payoff for some things is … in the future?

Alan Wake 2 in development

Well, with all of this track record that is not uncommon, Jeff Grubb’s blunt statement takes a lot more force. First because ensures that a second tranche is under development

, and on the other hand because it has already shown that it has sufficient credibility to take it into account.

This information was revealed on his Twitch channel and guarantees that the deal with Epic Games is done, so at least the arrival of this Alan Wake 2 on PC and the Fortnite Creators Store would be assured. While some skeptics say it could be an April Fool’s Day joke, the truth is the celebration begins tomorrow, not today.

Right now you need to take the information very carefully, and of course, if it’s true, no date or information on its launch yet.
