It is very recent that Control just debuted on the new generation of consoles i.e. Xbox Series and PS5, however, from recent statements we now know that this is a situation that really dislikes Remedy.
Thanks to an interview between Thomas Puha who is communication director at Remedy with IGN
Anytime you’re at this intergenerational stage, to be frank, it sucks.
You have to support the older generation, make sure it w orks, and anything you bring to the next generation will always be limited by the choices you made years ago for the older generation.
You are literally taking resources that build the games of the future and improve the engine of the future.
Remedy expects big breakthroughs with the next generation of consoles
As you can see Puha speaks from a technical point of view and mentions that the reason we haven’t seen some really amazing video games on Xbox Series or PS5 is because of the Xbox One and PS4 generation. Thomas is optimistic and mentions that we will eventually see games that really harness the potential of new consoles.
The games coming out, the things we’re working on, the visual bar, will leave you speechless.
Recall that Remedy is currently working on five new games of which we already know the first details. We recommend that you keep an eye on Generation Xbox for more news.
