Resident Evil Village sold five million copies faster than its predecessor Resident Evil 7 Biohazard.
In a press release, Capcom announced that Resident Evil Village has been brought to gamers faster than its predecessor Resident Evil 7 Biohazard, with five million copies sold since its release in May this year. Biohazard is the top-selling part of the franchise with 10 million games sold to date.
Resident Evil Village’s five million units sold make the game the 10th best-selling game in Capcom’s history. Resident Evil 2 from 1998 sold 4.96 million copies and was prior to that spot on Capcom’s all-time bestseller list.
The entire Resident Evil series has thus also exceeded the barrier of 100 million sold games.
