The development studio 3D Realms has released a first gameplay trailer for their horror shooter Ripout.
3D Realms has released a trailer for the horror co-op shooter Ripout, which is just under two minutes long, but the first few seconds are enough to convey a certain atmosphere. The trailer should bring back some memories, especially for those of you who have played Dead Space or DOOM before.
While the setting and the enemy types in Ripout are strongly reminiscent of Dead Space, the weapon types and their multitude are much more wacky than the always reliable plasma cutter. For example, there is a so-called pet gun that seems to have a life of its own. The trailer also shows how the weapons are adjusted on a kind of workbench.
Ripout is an online co-op horror FPS in which players must navigate their way through procedurally generated abandoned ships full of mutants capable of reshaping their alien bodies. Survive with your trusty Pet Gun companion, collect loot, and customize your character to fit your playstyle.
So in summary, Ripout seems to be about this: Survive constantly adapting, merging hordes of enemies with a variety of outlandish weapons, alone or in co-op.
Those of you who feel addressed by this are welcome to watch the trailer and wait for the release date to be announced. The shooter has only been announced for the current year 2022.
Ripout is expected to be released later this year for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
