WW1 FPS Isonzo gets second free update: Piave river will flow red on February 28th.
The WW1 FPS Isonzo gets its second update for the Caporetto expansion on February 28th. Soldiers on PC, PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S can look forward to a variety of new weapons, as well as the second of three new offensive maps based on the twelfth Isonzo battle.
This time, they must conquer not only their enemies but also the Piave River to achieve victory. Check out the teaser for the Piave expansion here:
Just like the first part of the Caporetto expansion, the Piave update will also be free for all Isonzo players. As per the roadmap, this will be the second update of many to be released on Steam, PlayStation, Xbox and the Epic Games Store.
With the next free update, players must face the Piave River in the second of three new offensive maps coming with the Caporetto expansion for the Isonzo. Fighting the Italian enemies on the dangerous riverside slopes, the German soldiers must survive the treacherous nooks and crannies of Caporetto while attempting to complete the Piave challenge with all their might.
The history books record that after the defeat at Caporetto (October 24, 1917) the Italians retreated to the Tagliamento line. At the same time, Boselli resigned as Prime Minister of Italy and a new cabinet was formed. They met with the British and French prime ministers and decided to replace Luigi Cadorna with Armando Diaz as Italy’s new chief of staff. The king supported his new boss in a plan to hold the Piave river to prevent Venice from falling into enemy hands.
Now it’s up to players to pave the way to victory, either by attempting to build a bridge across the Piave or by preventing their enemies from doing just that. Either way, a tough fight awaits on both sides!
The update will also add two new weapons to even the odds: the Mauser M1914 and the Beretta Modello 1917.
