What are the next steps for UEFN? And what has Epic Games prepared for Fortnite Creator? The answers are here!
Fortnite Creators can now use new creative gadgets and race track templates to build Rocket Racing islands in Fortnite.
There’s also a Rocket Racing Vehicle Spawner to spawn vehicles, and two brand new templates to create your own tracks – the Competitive Race Track and the Speed Run Track.
Additionally, Fall Guys assets, animations, and Fall Guy Beans will be added to UEFN in May so creators can build their own fast-paced obstacle courses, all in Fortnite.
Epic Games announced: “We want to find more ways for creators to use not only Epic’s IP, but also a range of licensed IP. We are pleased that the LEGO Group is the first partner to provide its brand assets to Fortnite Creator.”
LEGO Elements and other assets are now available in Fortnite Creative and UEFN. All creators who are members of the Island Creator Program and accept the additional terms and conditions can build their own LEGO islands using LEGO branded templates, props, consumer goods, items and more. In addition, the players on your LEGO island wear the LEGO-style minifigure outfits from Fortnite.
But there are even more plans, including continuing to invest in new creator tools and implementing great feedback from the creator community UEFN roadmap
“We have always used our own games to drive the development of Unreal Engine and ensure it is practical for creators. Now it’s time to move Fortnite development to UEFN and Verse. By the end of 2025, we will deliver our first battle royale season developed entirely in UEFN.”
Here’s a little preview of what’s to come in 2024:
- More camera and control systems, including the highly sought-after first-person camera.
- A new itemization system that simplifies the crafting of in-game items and allows you to build completely custom weapons.
- A new Scene Graph system designed and optimized for Verse that allows you to dynamically manipulate almost any object in your game, as well as a new prefab system.
- Physical sandbox gameplay, including the ability to use physically simulated characters in UEFN and Creative and simulate any static mesh.
- More personalized rows in Discover to show players more recommended content.
- Updates to Creator Pages, including the option to follow a creator and link to social media platforms.
