A lot has happened with Resident Evil in recent years and even more could come.
The heyday of Resident Evil is not over yet, at least not if what was recently made public by the very prominent leaker Dusk Golem aka AestheticGamer is confirmed. If his information is confirmed – and of course, as always, you should treat it with a fair amount of caution – then five new Resident Evil titles await you in the coming years.
He posted this information on the leaker The Snitch’s Discord channel, where he also wrote that these five titles are already in development and at the same time.
The leaker recently claimed to have received a big update for one of these titles and so Dusk Golem further explained that he was really looking forward to it, but that this game would not be released before the end of 2026 or the beginning of 2027. The leaker did not say what exactly this update was about.
However, as you would probably guess, one of the five games appears to be Resident Evil 9. Resident Evil 9 has apparently been in development since 2018, according to various reports. This should be both the Resident Evil game with the last production period and the entry in the series for which the most budget was made available.
It is also assumed that Capcom is working on one or more remakes, considering the success of the new editions so far. However, due to the lack of official confirmation, such assumptions are more of a theoretical nature.
