Scarlet Nexus takes place in a land known as New Himuka, set in a distant future where technology and psychological skills have evolved alongside humanity. People display skills that are obvious, like pyrokinesis, which involves controlling fire, as well as more complex skills like clairvoyance: the precognitive ability to see what’s hidden from you.
For hundreds of years, ferocious monsters known as “Others” have descended from heaven and terrorized life on earth with their insatiable cravings for minds. To counter the scourge, the Other Suppression Force (OSF) was formed as the last line of defense, using psychic abilities in conjunction with traditional weapons and combat tactics.
In the game Scarlet NexusYou can either take on the role of Yuito Sumeragi, the enthusiastic young recruit from a distinguished family, or Kasane Randall, the stoic psyker who graduated from the top of her class. Each play-through of the story takes place at the same time, although it is experienced through the eyes of individual heroes. Additionally, both Yuito and Kasane have different gameplay, with Yuito’s attacks and skill tree focusing on melee and recovery, while Kasane is a medium-range attacker whose early skills focus on dexterity and agility.
There will be some shared experiences and locations, some of which are unique to each character, and will give players a thorough understanding of both the core story and the cast of characters in this new JRPG.
Both Yuito and Kasane’s first gameplay can be experienced in the demo. This will be an excellent entry point into the lore of Scarlet Nexus and a taste of what’s to come for our heroes.
