The life of a pirate has been made even more enjoyable in Season 11 of Sea of Thieves thanks to a number of improvements.
A new season is coming to the shores of Sea of Thieves. As of now, Season 11 introduces several changes and improvements to the way you can navigate the seas. This means you can embark on an adventure faster than ever before, while significantly expanding the range of rewards and progression paths.
In this latest free update, several systems have been overhauled to optimize your experience as you quickly sail or dive from one journey, event or story to the next. The introduction to the game has also been expanded with new tutorials with the Pirate Lord, which remove some hurdles for new players who want to familiarize themselves with life on the seas!
Basic improvements
The main feature of Season 11 is the overhaul of the traditional journey loop, and that starts with the quest table. Instead of having to return to an outpost to purchase new rides from trading companies, you can now access all available rides and stories directly from your ship. The redesigned Explore tab lets you see what activities are on offer and see suggested trips that match your personal development level!
Once you’ve decided on a trip, you’ll have the option to take the plunge and dive to your destination, throwing you right into the action. As always, loot cannot be taken during a dive, but rewards are no longer entirely tied to turning in the treasure; instead, there is now a small amount of company reputation awarded immediately after completing a trip. You still need to cash in your loot if you want the full payout, but all is not lost if you don’t make it to an outpost!
Of course, diving to your destination can speed up the completion of your tasks, but there are still plenty of reasons to set sail the traditional way in Sea of Thieves. The rewards for completing discoverable events like a shipwreck or a message in a bottle have been reworked and rebalanced to ensure there is always something worthwhile to find.
Earn a good reputation
While the trading company representatives are no longer the source of new trips, you’ll still want to stop by from time to time. For example, special offers are only available directly from the respective representatives. There you will also find a newly designed cosmetic shop where you can find all of the trading company’s clothing and items in a single place.
At the same time, trading companies have undergone a major expansion that will also allow established players to progress further in the company of their choice, as reputation now increases to level 100 for all companies except The Hunter’s Call. Reaching this significant milestone will earn you one of five new awards that will restore your reputation with this company and unlock a prestigious award ring for your pirate!
To help you with this, Raids have been added to the Adventure Table, becoming available as you advance in the Trading Company rank, and are a twist on the familiar world events. Instead of the random selection of loot in these events when you get them at random, the raids occur in different themed areas of society. If you choose these events, you can earn a high-quality loot pool with specific items for your chosen company and the associated reputation gain.
New year, new styles
With the start of a new season, 100 new levels of seasonal reputation are available for dedicated sailors to climb. As always, this means plenty of gold, doubloons and ancient coins to earn, as well as a range of clothing, ship and item cosmetics to obtain as you level up. And of course, buyers of the Plunderpass can look forward to additional goodies in the form of 750 additional ancient coins and the complete collection of the well-traveled dealer, including collectibles.
The Pirate Emporium and Outpost shops are also expanding their offerings! The impressive Boarhunter collection has arrived in the Emporium and includes a ship set, a weapon pack and a clothing pack for pirates with an interest in pigs. At Outpost stores, the Maestro clothing set might be of interest if you’re a melodic marauder, ensuring your outfit generates fanfare at every turn.
