Sega announces agreement with Microsoft to develop games on Azure

Japanese developer and publisher intends to develop next-generation games with Azure cloud platform technology

SEGA and Microsoft further strengthen their relationship by announcing a collaboration agreement to develop next-generati on games through Azure. The Japanese company intends to develop its next “Super Games” by relying on Redmond’s cloud technology.

From SEGA itself, they assure that they intend explore new avenues in large-scale global video game development. Its medium-to-long term strategy consists of anticipate trends in the future for optimize processes development so that we can continue to deliver high-quality experiences to players using Azure cloud technology. Focusing on 4 key points: Global, online, community and Using the IP.

Microsoft and SEGA enter into a mutually beneficial alliance, with the intention of improve network infrastructure and communication tools for online services in priority. The announcement was completely commercial, without revealing any aspect of the games that could benefit from this deal.
