The Xbox Game Pass is not suitable for everyone, it is only one option, says Phil Spencer.
The head of the Microsoft Gaming division, Phil Spencer, spoke to Variety about Xbox.
Via the Xbox Game Pass said Spencer that it was an option for certain people that it does not have to fit everyone and set another option to play games.
“I consider Game Pass as a healthy option for certain people. It is not suitable for everyone. If you only play one or two games a year, Game Pass is probably not the right business model for you, you should only buy these two games, and that would absolutely make sense. According to Spencer, the PC and the cloud are currently the largest segments in which you have growth. However, consoles are still good business.
“Our biggest growth areas are PC and Cloud at the moment, which makes sense because consoles are a good business as a whole. They are an established business, but they are not really a growing segment in the gaming area. So we have good growth on the PC, and we have growth in the cloud when it comes to users and hours.”
“And the consoles are still a very healthy part of the Game Pass. But it is not absolutely necessary that Game Pass is the only way to play. If everyone who is a game pass subscribe is deciding to buy their games instead, that's good for our business.”
