Sonic Frontiers is the latest game released in the Sega franchise. A game that has surfed the wave of success in which our favorite blue hedgehog has been living lately, mainly supported by the good reception and criticism of its two action films. And it is that, after a last decade of ups and downs in its releases, the latest game has been a successful step forward.
Something that can be verified with the large sales numbers it has. A figure that already exceeds 2.9 million units worldwide.
Sonic Frontiers is a success for Sega
Scandalous figures which, in addition, have exceeded all Sega’s expectations. What they recently confirmed in a question and answer session at a quarterly meeting with investors. In it, Sega commented that even total sales succeeded in exceeding the company’s initial estimates. Something they intend to keep increasing with price offers, promotions and the development of more DLC.
We are proceeding with this title based on a strategic sales plan. We ran intensive promotions around the November release and, as announced recently, we’ve been able to achieve good results so far. A temporary window was created around Black Friday, but since then the sale price has returned to normal. We were able to achieve these results while maintaining a certain level of quality and the number of units sold far exceeded our initial estimate. We will continue to sell for the long term based on verification strategies such as pricing, promotions and developing more downloadable content.
As for the short term, Sonic Frontiers has a solid roadmap ahead of it, as it has plenty of post-launch content confirmed for the coming months. These include new story missions and new playable characters, as we told you a few weeks ago.
