Sam Fisher fans are used to rollercoaster rides when it comes to Ubisoft’s license. Despite the confirmation of a remake of the first opus, the news of the day isn’t the most reassuring. Indeed, the director of the remake, David Grivelannounced via his LinkedIn that he had left the company where he had worked for 11 years.
The title is in development under the Snowdrop engine which is already powering it The corporate division and the next Avatar: Pandora’s Limits as well as the next Star Wars game produced by the publisher. Earlier this year, Ubisoft Toronto was looking for a screenwriter to update the original game’s story. Knowing that the game was at the very beginning of its cycle last December, such an announcement doesn’t bode well for the future.
