Join young King Evan on a grand adventure that blurs the line between animated feature film and video game Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom – The Prince’s Editionout today on Xbox, Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass.
As king, Evan bears the responsibility of great power. In this action role-playing game, he will personally set out and fight to unite and save his people. However, the king’s duty does not end there. As part of the main game, Evan must also develop his empire in a city simulator-like kingdom management mode and lead his army in a real-time strategy like skirmish mode.
These two modes will become important parts of Evan’s journey as he works to demonstrate his leadership on and off the battlefield. So read on to learn more about how they work and a few tips to get you started.
Kingdom management mode
After a certain point in the story, Evan can sit on his throne to start Kingdom Management mode. Starting from a small humble town, you help Evan lead his people by choosing which buildings to construct and tasking the citizens to work on their respective sections.
Each building provides significant amenities or bonuses to your kingdom. Some buildings constructed in Kingdom Management mode are the only source of some rare items.
Citizens will push upgrades and research in Evan’s kingdom. Each citizen has their own specialty and bonus that makes them better suited for one job or another. It will be Evan’s job as king to make that assessment and decision.
Pro Tip: Prioritize the Evermore Spellworks if magic is more appealing to you. This building allows you to upgrade and research new spells!
skirmish mode
In order to build and expand his kingdom, Evan must prove his tactical prowess by leading his army against other enemy armies in a real-time strategy-like mode called Skirmish Mode. In this mode, Evan commands up to 4 soldier units. Each type of soldier is easily distinguished by the color of their uniform.
Pro Tip: The effectiveness of the soldier type is also determined by the weapon type. For example swords are strong against hammers, hammers are strong against spears and spears are strong against swords. In other words: sword > hammer > spears > sword. Bows are strong against all weapon types, but vulnerable to melee attackers.
In Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom – The Prince’s Edition, Evan will need a variety of skills to successfully assume his role as king. How will you decide to rise to the occasion?
Enjoy the game today on Xbox Game Pass, which includes all DLCs introducing new gameplay and story content; Adventure Pack, The Lair of the Lost Lord and The Tale of a Timeless Tome. I’m Not Afraid II: Revenant Kingdom is available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Windows.
