Vocabulary is a cooperative adventure platform game with handcrafted stop motion graphics. In this adventure, we will play the role of Karla and / or Kurt. The title was made with a combination of techniques and artistic solutions never before seen in stop motion movies or video game experiences. Since launching on Kickstarter in March, the team behind Vokabulantis have been happy to have reached their fundraising goal.
My whole being is still in shock, and that of the whole studio team! We really did – thank you! I don’t know what I could compare this to. Maybe climbing a mountain for a whole month and suddenly reaching the top and the view is more than you could have imagined? Totally exhausted, but still feel like you can keep climbing forever at the same time?
Getting on Kickstarter with no prior experience and putting our baby out there for anyone to adopt is a tough decision. We were totally overwhelmed by this warm welcome and the support we have experienced at this time is far more shocking than we thought. All these people who joined us to climb this mountain and now they are with us. I am more than grateful.
Esben Kjær Ravn, developer and owner of the studio.
In Vokabulantis, Karla and Kurt are stuck at the intersection trying to shake hands for the first time. Now, nervous, they realize what they’re about to do. Therefore, when they want to speak to break the tension, their mouths come off and they are transported to Vokabulantis. Lost in the world of language, shattered by their inability to speak, they must now save the Vokabulantis to save their mutual feelings.
Your Intersection Moment experience turns into an epic odyssey through City of Noun, Asfasi’s Word Power Crystal, and Beyond the Sea of the Giant Verb Karbs (the Sea of the Giant Verb) and more again. Fight the word Fuhrer and Granny Marble, the two ancient forces of language, and meet Numerica, Iago, The Color Prince and many more.
