The wait for the brand new version of Crash is finally over! Players can buy Crash Team Rumble on Xbox One and Xbox Series Each team’s goal is to collect the most Wumpa Fruit while preventing the opposing team from giving their fruit to their own Wumpa Bank. In true Crash Bandicoot fashion, each map is filled with dangers, surprises, and wild traps that will test the player’s platforming skills.
The Toys For Bob team has taken all the familiar locations fans will recognize from previous Crash games and reimagined them into battle arenas with unique relic stations that give each game a fresh and unique feel. Relic Stations can be activated by teammates to either give their team a boost or wreak havoc on their opponents. To activate a relic station, players must collect floating relics scattered around the map and then deposit them at a relic station to activate the power.
Relic Stations have wild and diverse abilities and are always unique to the map being played on. For example, one map has Relic Stations that spawn mushrooms that can slow and damage enemies, but won’t damage your allies. On another map, a relic station might summon a deadly UFO to hunt down enemies, or even rain down meteors from the sky to deal some serious damage. Each team can activate the same relic stations. So it’s a frantic race to see which team can deposit enough relics first to use these powerful abilities.
To get a sense of how these relic stations can affect the flow of a game, let’s look at an unprecedented map: Serenity Gardens. While this phase may seem peaceful, every game on this melee map is filled with mayhem and N.Sanity. True to its roots of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About TimeActivating the Akano Relic Station equips teams with a powerful spin attack that damages enemies and knocks them back. This powerful vortex also lets players glide while jumping, giving their team a significant boost in strength and mobility. If a player is struggling to deal with enemies attacking their team’s Wumpa Bank, equip them with Akano and blast them away!
Gathering wumpa fruit is the be-all and end-all, and the most bountiful harvest comes via this map’s Epic Relic Station, the Big Bonsai. Located in the dead center of the map, activating this power spawns a huge tree full of mature Wumpa Hideouts. These golden fruits are worth 100 Wumpa Fruits each and can be picked up by any member of a player’s team and taken back to the Wumpa Bank for scoring. Even if her team falls behind, the tide can turn in a flash with a coordinated push to capture all the Wumpa supplies up the tree. However, players must be careful; If an enemy knocks her unconscious while carrying the Wumpa stash, he’s gone forever. When the opposing team activates the Big Bonsai, you’ll need to work with your team to stop them from scoring all those Wumpa supplies and getting a huge head start.
