Insomniac Games commented on the impact of the recent cyber attack in an official statement.
A few days ago, Insomniac Games was the victim of a large-scale cyber attack in which over 1.3 million files with a total size of 1.67 terabytes were stolen. This includes confidential information about employees as well as various internal information about finances and games in development.
In a published via X opinion The development studio is now officially commenting on the attack for the first time and describing the effects on its teams and employees:
“Thank you very much for your great sympathy and unwavering support. We really appreciate it.”
“We are both saddened and angry about the recent criminal cyberattack on our studio and the emotional toll it has taken on our development team. We have focused on supporting each other over the last few days.”
“We recognize that the stolen data included personal information of our employees, former employees and independent contractors. This includes early development details for Marvel’s Wolverine for PlayStation 5. We continue to work quickly to determine what data was affected.”
“This experience is very disturbing for us. We want everyone to be able to enjoy the games we create the way we intend and how our players deserve.”
“But like Logan, Insomniac is indestructible. Marvel’s Wolverine will continue as planned. The game is in early stages of production and will undoubtedly evolve greatly as development progresses, as do all of our plans.”
“We appreciate everyone’s enthusiasm, but we will announce official information about Marvel’s Wolverine in due course. On behalf of everyone at Insomniac, we thank you for your continued support during this difficult time.”
