With Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, we will return to the universe of Batman: Arkham five years after the events of Arkham Knight. But once the game is released, will this whole universe come full circle and will it come full circle?
According to the director James Gunn, who is co-CEO and co-chairman of DC Universe, won’t be like that. In response to a fan on Thread, when asked if the Arkhamverse would be “finished after Suicide Squad”, Gunn replied: “No way! Personally, I’m looking forward to the game’s release and hoping for more. I’m a fan”.
When another fan asked him again if Suicide Squad would be the last game in the Arkham series and if this universe would be closed forever, Gunn replied, “It’s not planned to be the last!” The post has since been deleted, but you can see a screenshot below, courtesy of @dcuworld on Twitter.
When Gunn was announced as co-CEO and co-president of the DCU last year, he revealed plans for future video games that would be connected to the cinematic universe. Currently, however, neither of the two next known DC games – Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman – are confirmed as part of the DCU.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League launches February 2 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
