In some thoughts from the developers of Bandai Namco, the doubts that existed to choose what would be the next game in the Tales of saga a few years ago have been revealed. And it turns out that recent Tales of Arise wasn’t originally intended to be part of the long-running JRPG franchise. Despite doubts, his departure reinvigorated the saga and brought a breath of fresh air to the style of gameplay that had lost appeal with Western audiences.
Como hemos visto en la critique general, el juego fue elogiado por la construcción de su mundo y su system de combate tan dinámico que déjó un poco de lado el estilo japonés cerrado en combates por turnsos, dirigiéndose a lo hack and slash y la strategia en team. In this way, and as we have seen, it is possible that this title did not have so much impact because it was not going to bear the name of Tales of, calling itself in another way but keeping the Aris.
Tales of Arise, one of the best JRPGs of 2021 could have been very different
Also well commented Denfaminico player, producer Yusuke Tomizawa and director Hirokazu Kagawa, assured that a big possibility that the game would have another repercussion and different expressions in its narration was due to the fact that the name of Tales of was not initially planned. The main fear of not using this name was that the title had some big innovations compared to other games in the series, so it might be a change that fans wouldn’t like. Despite this, they decided well and put their finger on a great video game.
At the moment, we don’t officially know if Tales of Arise will soon have a sequel. While Bandai Namco trademarked it as Tales of Arise: Beyond The Down, what some say is a spin-off, it may be a direct sequel. In addition, another title of the saga is the subject of a remastering, the one chosen being Tales of Symphonia, which will be released next month on all platforms.
