During the 20 hours required to complete the base game and its DLC, impersonating a shark in this quest for revenge is an unparalleled and unique pleasure. Man eater is an incongruous mix of engulfing swimmers and endless poiscaille, exploration, racing against the clock, but unfortunately doesn’t avoid the lack of variety. This becomes clear with the DLC, which offers a new playground but is based on the basic game. With its light second degree audio as well as its 4K/60fps combo, Man eater remains a massive release that is as regressive as it is jubilant.
A voracious eating machine
I don’t know about you, but I, in the sea teeth 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 6, 7, I’ve always been on the side of the shark. That’s it Man eater is a child’s dream. Embody the ultimate predator to eat absolutely EVERYTHING, the absolute foot. If we shouldn’t expect anything amazing from the scenario, we can still see it a gory retelling of the Bambi story. In fact, the bulldog shark we impersonate has its mother killed by a hunter. This one is obviously one hell of a bastard, as unpleasant as it is cartoonish. It will of course be a pleasure to take revenge…
For 15 hours lasting the main adventure and its sides, we initially find ourselves in the scaly skin of a ridiculously sized shark. By devouring everything that passes, our Bambi will tank and not just a little to reach the rank of MEGA. I use the word rank because there’s a small RPG dimension to this big mess that’s forming Man eater. The menu is large and varied enough not to tire you. Sneaking around tourist spots, or poking around an industrial area, or hanging out in the bay: this is the shark’s dream life.
If the diversity is present on the environmental side, the same cannot be said for the mission objectives. Very often it comes down to killing ten swimmers or another big shark. In short, we have fun shredding anyth ing and everything into clouds of blood and that’s it. Luckily, with the Series X upgrade, The 4k and 60fps combo offers the most immersive experience possible
A DLC to extend the fun
Additional Content truth seeking is strictly consistent with the base game. We find the same structure of boilerplate missions and without much interest. So we’re content to crunch at all costs, mechanically, automatically … like an insatiable shark. on another side, This DLC goes even further in the grand scheme of things with radioactive or armored creatures like never before. Four to five hours will be needed to complete this quest for truth where our shark will be entitled to a new territory, Plover Island. The latter is small and this time much more militarized and dangerous than the base map.
Man eater has the good taste to tell all this in the second degree, thanks to a voiceover (in VOSTFR) that tells us about the initiatory quest of this vengeful and merciless shark. To the a simple and immediate pleasure, the tone should be light and a bit dirty. And it’s successful. The title is also full of pop culture references. Of particular note is the DLC, which ridicules many conspiracy theories such as Area 51 or the moon landing.
Having made the game in late 2020, I felt a bit hot to jump straight into it truth seeking. In addition, a rehabilitation period is necessary to regain the controls and the different armor sets of our bulldog shark. But this is done quickly, so that you can indulge in it for a while letting off steam as regressively as jubilantly.
