redfall was not yet ready for release in May 2023. And that’s not even a technical question. In fact, this FPS does pretty well in co-op and in an open city. Even at 30 fps, the action is smooth and hassle-free. No, where the shoe pinches is the thing. Almost no scenario, zero sense of danger, let alone absolute urgency. The result is a completely neutral, tasteless and unattractive atmosphere. The missions are connected without passion, without understanding if it is a main or side mission. Worse, whether it’s over or not. Information, and particularly the means of disseminating it, is also another big black mark, that ugly sense of being lost for nothing comes back all too often. We were promised hell on earth, we weren’t disappointed, well. But we didn’t expect this hell: a hell of crappy navigation in a pretty little town definitely empty of enemies, where the rare crossed vampires are destroyed in a few bullets. So yes, as with many other productions in the genre, the patches and updates will come to improve, enrich and clarify the experience. Yes OK. But in the meantime, this month of May 2023, we cannot advise you redfall. GIVE US HELL!!!!!
Note: Four editors were able to meet with them redfall, whether solo or in co-op. Here is her opinion.
The (Vam) worst is for sure (Bibi’s opinion)
When we talk about vampires, memories of youth come to mind. A still from the film Nosferatu, enough to traumatize any child and forever imprint the image of the vampire as a definitely frightening creature. Another aspect of some works is their irresistible charm. In redfall
The action of it FPS in co-op with up to 4 players takes place in the cute little town of Redfall. The latter is a successful playground and appears frozen. It’s pretty fascinating. Also, the first scene is surreal at will and spectacular in its stillness. Imagine a little: our avatar wakes up on a boat stranded on the city’s shore, with a stormy sea all around, but mostly glazed over. Nothing is moving. Guaranteed effect… that only lasts a few moments. Because the sequel is a lot less attractive and, let’s face it, very disappointing.
Meeting a vampire for the first time is a rare moment of achievement, as it evokes another cult plan: the mansion’s first zombie resident Evil. Here I’ve kept a staging effect and it pays homage to a 25 year old game. It’s actually a bit cheesy.
The tranquility of a seaside resort
The missions are from one frightening banality. A very, very evil pharmaceutical company does everything and it leads to disaster. Does that remind you of anything? A company with an umbrella perhaps? Well seen. Okay, so maybe the story is a pretext for uninhibited action then? eh? Unbridled, edgy, sensational, visceral action?
Not.
we can happen long minutes without crossing the slightest enemy. The smaller vampire. We stroll through this somewhat cliched town in picturesque America. We’d almost forget this is an action game since the running simulator It is not far. Then a vampire appears, he gets smashed into some bullets. Return to calm.
I’m still horrified by my eight hours of play, half co-op, half solo and with two different characters redfall. By the looks of it, this title looks like an attraction in the making. Not entirely missed as the facility is good. But we need to beef up the game big, big to achieve an experience worthy of the name, because Chase the vampire if that sounds like it, I know more exciting things
Zayow’s review
I wasn’t exactly expecting it redfall impatient, but the game tickled my curiosity. I finished it on the hardest difficulty and it was super easy. Some missions made me barely cross 5 enemies. It’s unsettling when you’re in a group. Despite this, this vampire hunt offers something pleasant, a nice atmosphere and original weapons at the helm.
Alone, the adventure takes on a whole new dimension. We feel under pressure more quickly. unfortunately, The enemy AI is so weak that it is easy to destroy them with a simple sniper without worrying anyone. So, do I recommend the adventure? Yes, if you like discovering places and a believable universe… And no, if you’re looking for a bit of interactivity with this beautiful universe.
Do it alone with blood on your hands (Yucky’s opinion)
redfall is not a bad game, the main flaw is that we feel like it was more intended to be played solo rather than co-op. The various trailers were able to convey the idea of an exciting multiplayer adventure with character synergies. Our experience was slightly different. Where I thought the game would prey on me, I was actually the predator.
In the 16 hours it takes to complete the story, I’ve only too rarely gotten into trouble with the title Arkane Austin. The different bosses redfall
However, the title all the same qualities to prevail. Partially we find the level design signature of Arkane verticality and multiple options to address any situation. Playing with a stake launcher also brought back fond memories of digging Painkiller in his days! The artistic direction is also successful, especially in the second half of the game. On the other hand, don’t rely on sound design to pinpoint your opponents. At best, you know an enemy is nearby. It is that permanent “hot-cold” what bothered me the most. Overall makes this redfall an average game from which I would retain very few standout moments.
We estimate:
- The open city, a pretty believable playground
- The variety of weapons
- Technically convincing while still waiting for the 60 FPS
- The game entirely in VF
We liked less:
- The lack of challenge
- Spend 80% of our time looking for enemies
- The lack of identity, of vampire charisma
- The readability of the map
- The Lambda scenario is served by a non-existent staging
