After allegations of plagiarism against Destiny 2, the developer of The First Descendant announces changes.
You didn’t have to look twice to see that the in-game symbols used in The First Descendant bear striking similarities to those in Destiny 2.
After the topic was discussed in the media and also on XDynasty, developer NEXON has now also commented on it.
In a statement, they announced that they would like to rework the “possibly similar looking images”.
NEXON’s statement via IGN:
“The First Descendant was developed as a looter shooter game with a deep affection and respect for other games in the genre. Destiny 2, a world-renowned looter shooter game, is also personally admired and respected by the team and served as an inspiration during the development process.”
“We have taken the concerns raised seriously and decided to make adjustments to ensure that the potentially similar-looking images clearly reflect the unique identity of our game. We will continue to improve the game for fans of the looter shooter genre.”
