According to the latest rumors, Resident Evil 9 could be announced as early as next year.
Capcom now provides its players with something about Resident Evil every year. Sometimes it’s a DLC, or sometimes a very successful remake like Resident Evil 4 recently. But the last major release in the series was Resident Evil 8 2021, which now has a story DLC. Since then it has become quiet about the stories in and around Racoon City.
But according to the leaker Dusk Golem, the silence will soon be over. On a Discord server, he claims that he has learned from “trustworthy” sources that Resident Evil 9 could be announced as early as next year. A publication should then take place directly in 2025. According to him, the title has been in the works since 2018 and will ultimately also mean the end of the numbering in the Resident Evil series.
Likewise, his leaks contain information about an expansion for the Resident Evil 4 Remake, which should focus more on Ada Wong. With this, Capcom could close the gap between releases to stretch the time until the release of Resident Evil 9.
According to Dusk Golem, Capcom will announce another title this year, which will then be released in autumn 2024. Although there are no clues about the unannounced game here, die-hard fans are already hoping for a sequel to Monster Hunter World.
