The launch of Palworld, the open world survival game developed by Pocket Pair, is now available on Xbox thanks to its early access. If you have Game Pass on Xbox or PC, you also have the option to get the game at no additional cost.
Despite the lack of specific data on Xbox player participation in Palworld, the PC version on Steam reached first place in sales and had over 367,000 concurrent players, ranking as the fourth most popular game. And in fact, just today my colleague Matías announced that the game had already sold a million copies in its first week. It’s one of those games that comes to life with success.
A success that ended up spoiling the initial experience
The successful launch led to connection issues, as the large number of concurrent players caused server instability. Pocket pair, in a statement on his official X account, recognizes problems and actively works to resolve them as quickly as possible.
Some players were able to log in after multiple attempts or waiting after starting the game. But this error seems to have continued to persist for the majority of players.
We are impressed by the response to Palworld and are doing our best to address your concerns!
Currently, our server provider is reporting that due to the large number of concurrent players, the servers have become unstable and you may have issues connecting to the servers.
We are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible!
Meanwhile, some users reported success by trying to log in 2-3 times or waiting after launching the game.
Palworld has similarities to Pokémon, as players can capture over 100 “Buddys” and train them into battle. However, the Pocket Air game differentiates itself by allowing more mature confrontations, with the use of modern weapons. Additionally, players can train their “friends” to perform various tasks, such as building structures, generating fire or electricity, and even farming the land. The particularity of the game lies in the possibility that the player character can consume Pals as a survival resource.
