Publisher Panic will publish Despelote, a narrative football game set in Quito, Ecuador, on a date to be announced in 2024
A few years ago Despelote was announced, a narrative football adventure that caught the attention of many gamers. Now, two years after its announcement, Despelote returns with a publisher, platforms, and a release date. And it is that Publisher Panic has confirmed that it will be in charge of publishing the title both on PC, and on Series X/S and PS5 on a date to be specified in 2024.
The title will put us in control of an eight-year-old boy, a representation of the childhood of one of the creators of the game, Julián Cordero. Despelote will take place in the city of Quito, Ecuador in 2001, the year Ecuador could qualify for the World Cup
In Despelote we will control our character with a first person view, being able to do a multitude of actions with the ball, such as shooting, passing the ball or dribbling our opponents. The city will be full of activities and missions to complete, as well as a multitude of characters to talk to
