Obsidian announces more weapons, more action and more… “graphics”
Obsidian is in great shape, with the release of Avowed in February and the confirmation of The Outer Worlds 2 has 2025 during the Game Awards gala. With this sequel, Xbox Game Studios, barring last minute delays, confirms that 2025 is betting big with several powerful releases.

No, seriously, we know we're not supposed to promise anything when it comes to marketing, but the environment is completely new, so this all goes without saying. Don't break up the colony again. We're looking at each of you who sent Hope into the sun last game.“.
In true Obsidian Entertainment style, you fight your way through Arcadia, a colony filled with factions, intrigue, and chaos. It is also the home of jump engine technology and therein lies the fate of the entire colony (and the galaxy).
As a bold, undeniably attractive and dubious agent of the Earth Directorate, you are tasked with discovering the source of the devastating rifts that threaten the entire galaxy. Speaking of risks (not to be confused with raptidon nets, they are very different)! The choice of how to treat cracks is up to you. “Your worlds, your way,” as they say at Obsidian.
The Outer Worlds 2 will bring many new features, in addition to highlighting its RPG characteristic, with important decisions and consequences, much more action, weapons and improved graphics. Additionally, The Outer Worlds 2 will feature transmedia content in the form of episodes in the Amazon Prime Video series Secret Level.
The Outer Worlds 2 will be released in 2025 on Xbox Series therefore the most spaced out launches.
