Season 2 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is about to arrive on January 28 and Treyarch has started sharing details about the upcoming Zombies map, called The Tomb. This new map will plunge players into the depths of the earth, into the catacombs. The story goes that a British archaeologist named Sir Archibald Fotherington-Smythe excavated the site in 1908 with high hopes, but no one knows what happened to him. However, some photographs from his expedition have recently resurfaced.
The map of The Tomb continues the story after the events of the Citadel of the Deadthe third Zombies map in Black Ops 6, introduced during Season 1. In this new map, Weaver, Grey, Carver, and Maya follow Gabriel Krafft's final words to a nearby dig site, where they continue their search for the Sentinel artifact. .
It will be available from January 28
One of the hallmarks of The Tomb is that it was designed to provide a similar experience to Zombies' Liberty Falls map, with more closed play spaces and an emphasis on replayability. Also promised are “many” Easter eggs and a reinvented special weapon inspired by the saga's past. While specific gameplay details have yet to be shared, Treyarch has revealed that the map will feature a variety of new features, such as the ability to pause the game while playing in cooperative modeas long as all players are in the same game.
In addition to the co-op break, Zombies Season 2 will also bring gear recovery to players who rejoin a session after being kicked while inactive. Challenge tracking improvements and the ability to configure separate HUD presets for Zombies and Multiplayer modes will also be included.
