The worlds of Puyo Puyo and Tetris collide again from today in Puyo Puyo Tetris 2

We’re excited to announce that starting today, Puyo Puyo and Tetris fans can come together again to create the ultimate crossover event for the ages with the start of Puyo Puyo Tetris 2, now available for Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One!

This new title not only brings back all the classic game modes, but also Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 It also features a brand new, RPG-inspired Skill Battle mode that we covered in our previous Xbox Wire article.

Today we’d like to take the Xbox community on a journey into the very fun single player adventure mode based in the worlds of Puyo Puyo and Tetris and featuring a brand new story with a colorful cast of new and returning characters.

In Adventure Mode, the worlds of Puyo Puyo and Tetris have come together thanks to a mysteriously powerful being known as a dimensional parasite. Faced with this threat, Ringo, a middle school student who knows about Puyo Puyo battles, and Tee, the Tetris King, must cross the New World with their allies to pop puyos and evict Tetriminos to keep their friends from one to save dark corruption. But they will quickly learn that there is more to their search than meets the eye when facing the dimensional parasite, with new secrets and clues to discover on their way out of this world.

As you progress through the story, navigate level to level on branched paths and optional levels in a new overworld map, allowing you to freely replay the levels for higher scores and better rewards. On the way you will encounter special mission conditions such as: B. surviving against your opponent within a certain time limit or dealing a certain amount of damage in a single attack. Each mission is also rated with 1-3 stars. You can achieve the basic objective or challenge yourself by trying to give 3 stars on each level!

New playable characters, backgrounds, bonus levels and more can also be unlocked as you earn credits that you can spend on even cooler things in the in-game shop. You will also unlock item cards that, when equipped, offer special abilities and options that are vital to winning matches in the new Skill Battle mode. These cards can do everything from increasing your HP and attack power (we said they were inspired by RPGs) to increasing the damage a Puyo chain can do to your opponent.

Not sure about your Puyo Puyo or Tetris skills? Right from the start, you have the option of activating a new dynamic difficulty level, “Auto”, which adapts to your game. After you’ve practiced here, your highly competitive finesse and ingenuity can be used against the world either in local multiplayer or online!
