Rolling out this week, this month’s update includes the ability to see your Discord friends’ Xbox gamertags, new sorting and filtering options in the Microsoft Store on Xbox.com, a firmware update for the Xbox Wireless Controller, and more.
View your Discord friends’ Xbox gamertags
If your The Discord account is linked to the Xboxyou can join voice channels from your Discord servers directly from your Xbox console. Starting today, you can see your Discord friends’ Xbox gamertags while connected to Discord Voice on your Xbox. This makes it easier to add each other as Xbox friends and send each other Xbox game invites.
New sorting and filtering options in the Microsoft Store on Xbox.com
Finding your next favorite Xbox games and entertainment is easier than ever Microsoft Store on Xbox. Now the pages you search on Xbox.com and your Xbox console have new sorting and filtering options that take price, subscription, supported languages, and accessibility features into account to find the perfect games for you.
Firmware update for the Xbox Wireless Controller
Keeping your controller up-to-date with the latest software maximizes your controller’s capabilities and compatibility. We’re rolling out a firmware update that includes fixes for unexpectedly slow battery drain on controllers with internal batteries, such as Xbox Elite Series 2 and Xbox Adaptive controllers or the Xbox Rechargeable Battery.
The lifespan of a battery depends on how often you charge it. You can check the battery level of your controller at any time. The battery indicator is located in the top-right corner of every screen on your Xbox console. If you don’t see the battery indicator, go to Profile & system > Settings > Devices & connections > Accessories, and then select the controller you’re using. Choose More options. The battery indicator is located above the controller image.
There is also a fix for controllers disconnecting in games when using headphones with 4K, 120Hz and VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) enabled. You can update your controller wirelessly or via a USB connection.
Xbox Game Pass quests are now easier to find in the new Rewards tab
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and console plan members can earn Microsoft Rewards points by playing games from the Xbox Game Pass library. Starting today, we’re experimenting with different experiences to make quests easier to find. Xbox Game Pass quests on your profile will be moved from the Gaming tab to the new Rewards tab. You can also quickly jump to them by pressing the Xbox button to open the guide, selecting “Profile & System”, selecting your profile, and then selecting “My Rewards”. As we roll this out, a random subset of users will have a chance to try it out.
And after you’ve earned all your rewards, you can redeem your points in the Microsoft Rewards app on your Xbox. Redeem points for Xbox gift cards and use them for in-game content, games, devices, movies, apps, accessories and more.
