Thanks to IGN’s microphone interview with the head of Bethesda, we learned a bit more about it starfield. Todd Howard answered questions from our American colleagues on Monday about the excellent presentation of the playing style long-awaited title.
Visit a universe without ever getting tired
The interview begins with a planned return to the vast universe and its hundred star systems. The planet environment is created procedurally. According to Howard, the studio can generate any number of stars without too much effort.
With this method, the upper limit between creating one planet and creating hundreds of others is not that big.
Explore the game with no downtime
Space combat and exploration are vital to the director of Bethesda. As well as progress on the floor. But he sees the transition from one to the other of these environments as less demanding for players.
This is how Howard seems to evoke game-driven transitions between evolution on a planet’s surface and phases in the full vacuum of space. It probably will be loading screens reminiscent of those already seen in the Stand out at which the Elder Scrollswhen entering and exiting a dungeon.
Become a space pirate
To go beyond the sole use of the ship you made, it will be possible to switch from one spaceship to another. In fact, the docking system works not only for stations, but also for enemy buildings.
Le playing style will therefore undoubtedly include a system for measuring the degree of destruction of a target in space. It will certainly be difficult to approach an enemy ship in full possession of your means, but equally ill-advised to board a sinking machine!
Play long… very long!
Todd Howard confirms it without batting an eyelid: Starfield’s main quest will be Bethesda’s longest ever. A frame which would therefore exceed the time required on a Stand out or one Elder Scrolls. Forty hours might be needed here to overcome it…but who completes the main quest of these titles without spending entire days exploring everything?!
Hikes that, according to the few, will also be very long 200,000 lines of dialogue planned
