Critics and negative comments abound on the imposition of certain games to use cross-play between consoles and PC. Even Xbox Game Studios games resort to this rather annoying practice for a lot of players. And let’s face it, taking on PC and console players in a grueling way doesn’t sound like a good idea.
So here it is, with a text to try to help you get rid of games where you rub shoulders with players who abuse cheats, mods or keyboards and mice with crazy sensitivity.
Disable Crossplay on Xbox
First, be aware that there is no way to completely disable crossplay. We can just limit and a lot that certain players from this platform sneak onto the consoles, but there are some details that we will not be able to control or limit.
The easiest way to do this is to block access to third-party networks from your account. With this you get that in your games no player who is not on Xbox Live sneaks in. The bad thing about it? that nothing prevents someone who plays on PC from entering via Xbox servers, for example if they bought the game in the Microsoft Store. What is good is that the sample is very small, and almost all of the bulk of the type of players we don’t want in our games are on Steam and other networks.
Limiting networks also ensures no one sneaks around with mods or anything like that, it’s well known that the Xbox Live system is strict with this even if the player was playing on PC. Here are the steps you need to follow:
- Go to settings.
- Now go to account options.
- Next, to online privacy and security options.
- Now let’s move on to Xbox privacy.
- Choose the option to customize.
- Edit the details by blocking the option that says “You can join cross-network play”.
At the moment these are all the tools we have, I use them for Halo Infinite and while admittedly it limits the search for games a bit, their quality is much higher when playing with people on a foot of equality.
