Bandai Namco has released two new Gundams and more gameplay details for the upcoming free-to-play hero shooter Gundam Evolution.
Developed by Bandai Namco Online, Gundam Evolution is set to launch action-packed 6v6 multiplayer battles on consoles and PC later this year.
In the run-up to the network test taking place between April 7th and 12th, the developers commented on some details and presented two new playable Gundams.
For example, during the network test, Point Capture mode will be available on the AA Gun Fortress map, Domination on Lunar Communications Base, and Destruction on Mining Quarry.
At full release, Gundam Evolution crossplay will only include consoles within the same console ecosystem. Crossplay between Xbox and PlayStation is therefore not possible, at least for the time being.
Each season of the shooter will include a Battle Pass. In addition, “Supply Pods” can be purchased, which contain random cosmetic items.
The customization system includes skins for the mobile suits, weapons, and accessories such as charms, emotes, player icons, environmental sprays, and special victory screens.
The twelve Gundams announced so far are joined by two more combat suits, MSA-002 Marasai (Zeta Gundam and Gundam Unicorn) and GN-001 Gundam Exia (Gundam 00), which increase the total number of playable Gundams to 14.
While the former is heavily armed and capable of dealing high damage, the latter relies on mobility and melee combat.
Both Gundams will be playable during the network test and can be earned after the full version is released or unlocked for a fee.
Gundam Evolution will be released in 2022 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.
