Not so long ago, my partner Adrián told you about the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2; A headset that stands out above all for its wireless and 100% compatibility with the Xbox One and the Xbox Series. So now is the turn of the 700 series, which I had the pleasure of being able to test and appreciate these days. You accompany me?

I am currently working with Razer Kraken Console Edition; headsets that give me a lot of versatility for podcasts, online gaming, streaming … etc. However and to this day, I hadn’t had the pleasure of being able to touch wireless headphones; and I’m not lying if I say they drastically change the gaming experience. But before I continue I’m going to leave the spec chart with you so you can get an idea of what these headsets are suitable for.

I think if there is something that I agree with my colleague Adrián, it is that once you try a wireless headset, you never want to go back to a wired headset again. The comfort that these helmets give you is tremendous and terribly addicting. So adapting to it is not complicated; although there are other nuances which we will detail later.

When you are evalu ating a headset for gaming, the first thing you need to ask yourself is does it feel heavy or not? And I’m not talking about the natural weight per se, but how you feel after a few play sessions. The answer to this question is somewhat complex as I have to admit that at first they feel a bit heavy if you have been using cables for a long time. This can be explained for several reasons; from speaker depth to built-in battery.

However, this is no exaggeration and you will last for hours with them on your head

. But to be honest, it shows when switching from one model to another.

Materials and qualities

As soon as you put on those Stealth 700 Gen 2, you realize that you are looking for a high end product. Everything looks high quality and especially the headband part, which is often the one that worries me the most when using headsets to play games. And in that sense, from the aluminum interior bodywork to all the padding that comes with it is exceptional, no complaints here.

In fact, the tape that sticks the speaker cone with the ear is made of some kind of fabric that makes it sweat or stick to the skin, very comfortable.

Controls and adaptability

Using a gadget without cables requires a few buttons and simple operation; Otherwise, you end up losing the behavior of your helmets. So if you decide to get your hands on them, I’ll tell you a little about it the button box that you can use or map at will:

  • The mode button is used to change EQ or surround modes.
  • It has two casters; one for the volume of the game and one for the party.
  • The Bluetooth button is used to sync with a Windows 10 mobile or PC.
  • You have a button to sync headsets with Xbox One / Series, as if it were a controller.
  • There is no mute button, to mute the mic you have to lift it slightly; if you download it completely, it is canceled.

The Xbox user will notice how easy it is to sync them with the console. Like I said, it’s the same as syncing a controller, you press the button on the console and the headset and that’s it. Additionally, the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 has a mobile app where you can map buttons (for example, use the “ mode ” button to mute the mic) and also to create audio profiles.

Final assessment

The Stealth 700 Gen 2 are above all good headphones to play, comfortable and of surprising sound quality. The PC or Xbox user will be very grateful that their correspondence is so well thought out. I am one of those who thinks that comfort is a very big plus; and grabbing the headsets, pressing a button, and playing is another level; no cables and no plugs …

If I have to make a claim about the product it would be the weight and noise cancellation which I think could be better. For everything else, once you’ve tried them, there’s no going back.

Stealth 700 Gen 2 (in box)

Its price is currently 150 dollars, but as of this writing; It has a 17% discount for a limited time on Amazon. I can assure you that they are worth every euro they cost.
