Well, after a few weeks of use, today I can tell you about my experience with this Razer device. Know? I don’t usually post spoilers at the beginning of my texts because I like to be read. But here he will make an exception. If you want to skip the rest of the text (not recommended) you can, because they blew my mind.
So now that you know my basic conclusion, let’s get to the good stuff. The first thing you need to know is that the Hammerhead Hyperspace is a headset specifically designed for Xbox and PC. They’re wireless and similar to Galaxy Buds, Pixeld Buds, and anything mobile, or you can compare them to iPods if you’re one of those who use iThings. With the difference that these are fully compatible with the Microsoft console. It is not difficult to imagine the comfort that such a device provides.
Ergonomics and ease of use
Ok, these are headphones for gaming, I’m sure you’ve come this far. So I want to focus on two key points for this. The first of these is ergonomics. I have a few Galaxy Buds that I use daily, but just because they’re small doesn’t guarantee they’ll be comfortable, they end up hurting my ears after several hours of use. Fortunately this does not happen with the Razer model, they weigh very little and have opted for synthetic material pads for the interior. Needless to say, it’s a thousand times more hygienic than putting the earphone in your ear with nothing on.
Since they weigh little and you don’t notice them too much in your hearing area, it really feels like you’re not wearing anything. In that sense, they’re great and easily dethrone the headsets of a lifetime for sporadic gaming.
In addition, this device is quite simple to use. In this sense, the brand works very well on ease of use. You just need to open the lid of the case and wait for your Xbox to detect them, although you must first connect the receiver via a cable to stop this. This part was pretty uncomfortable for me, and I don’t like having loose cables behind the console, so I bought an adapter like this to make it more comfortable.
How do these headphones sound and perform?
This part is perhaps the most important. Although I’ll leave the spec sheet of the product itself for you to review, I wanted to be honest in this regard. I was quite afraid that the sound cones sound with canned audio, these devices do not stand out for their brilliant sound quality. However, I must admit that in these headphones I had to put a point in my mouth. The sound is more than adequate
Obviously, if you want the full gaming experience, they will never replace 7.1 headsets, as good as they are, they don’t even come close to that level. The frequency is 20Hz – 20kHz and its impedance is 16Ω, which is good enough.
Where they fail the most, or at least where I notice there could be a lot more improvement, is in the part of its omnidirectional microphone. Although it has active noise cancellation, it frequently picks up a lot of noise if it exceeds a not very high threshold. I was able to tone it down Downloading the Razer app for Xbox, but even so, it still doesn’t behave as I would have liked. Its microphone also does not stand out for offering very high fidelity, but it is already more personal, I am very meticulous in this area and I like that when I speak I am heard with the highest possible quality, can Maybe I appreciate that more than the sound of the cone itself in Yeah.
Autonomy and quality of materials
I want to mention the quality of the materials. The feeling of having plastic in your hands does not exist here. These headphones are premium quality (their price too). Everything is taken care of down to the smallest detail, you can even play with how the lights light up, depending on your breathing, the music…etc. When you place them you already notice that you are not getting something of poor quality, and this is important for the first point, ergonomics.
There is one detail that I loved, and that is the quality of the box that contains and recharges the earphones. From the opening and closing hinge to the touch. All finished in matte black and Xbox green tones. The feeling even extends to the packaging, also neat and very well organized.
About the battery, because I must admit that it surprised me for good. From my usage, I’d say the average is around 5 hours off a single charge, which is a lot for gear like this. Obviously here we cannot compare with headband headphones, for obvious reasons since the battery must be smaller and, therefore, with less capacity.
The official equipment price on Razer’s website it’s $149but you can get them at lower price on amazon, which are currently 36% off and cheap. Before you start using them, take my advice and download the Razer app for Xbox, you’ll have a sea of tweaks.
