We control the forces of Lady Iris, build colonies and defenses to face these monsters. The campaign is currently incomplete. we have 11 missionsalthough more will be added in the future. Within missions, these are divided into expeditions, defenses, and city building, the latter being the combination of the other two.
In the construction of cities, we must accumulate resources by building sawmills to obtain wood, quarries to extract stone, filtration systems to collect oxygen, houses to house workers and troops, and much more. As we build, our city is gaining in prosperitywhich sets the level to unlock more advanced buildings and structures. We can also upgrade our troops, Iris, and the buildings we build.
A key point in Cataclysm in time, which progresses until night, when the next wave of enemies will attack. Iris can bend time, this allows us to go back to different points and rethink our strategy, which is especially useful if the mission gets out of control or the enemies surprise us directly. We can always resort to trial and error.
The main goal of all this planning is to create the necessary defenses to resist enemy waves. Build with blocks, whether it’s walls, traps, or anything else we can think ofis one of the most fun parts of the game. We can create elevated paths, build a bridge, create areas that give us an advantage and much more, as if it were a Lego world. This is where you feel that the limit is in our imagination. In fact, I was able to build several buildings on top of each other, connected by walkways, and then trace a path to the ground.

Cataclysm He has a very particular graphic stylewith all the elements you would expect from a medieval title, but with very attractive art. It’s a bit polygonal but more detailed. I think the use of colors is very good, there is a contrast between the environments and the structures we build, something that I think is intentional to make the process clearer to the eye. The soundtrack is very nicealmost relaxing at times, at night it becomes more macabre. The dubbing is in English and the texts in several languages, including Spanish.
The game is very fluidno performance issues or crashes in the game have been observed. As for the graphics options, we don’t have much to touch, there are several presets and we can also adjust the resolution, anti-aliasing, shadows and environment details, as well as limit the FPS and change the window mode. More options are missing and that it is compatible with DLSS or FSR, although due to the type of game it is not something that really makes a difference.
Cataclysm is on the right track
Cataclysm already offers a solid experience in early access. Building is a lot of fun and has the necessary depth with the addition of resource management. Being able to create practically whatever you want is a very positive point. The story also has its interesting point, even if for now it is not finished.
