In Windows 11 build 22635.4805, recently released via the beta channel, some interesting features have been discovered. Among the officially announced improvements, such as those to Snap and the gamepad keyboard, the most hardcore users of the operating system have noticed that Microsoft is working on an innovative method of file sharing. This new method allows users to share files with multiple apps by simply dragging objects to the top edge of the screen.
Once a file is dragged to the top edge of the screen, Windows displays a status bar with apps like Outlook, Phone Link and moreallowing you to drop the file for quick sharing. This change does not interfere with Snap Layouts, which only works when you drag a window, not files.
You can try the new feature using third-party tools
The new sharing experience in Windows 11 has not been officially announced by Microsoft, but it can already be tested in build 22635.4805. To try this new feature, you need to download ViveTool from GitHub and unzip the files to a convenient folder.
Then, it is necessary open command prompt as administrator and navigate to the folder containing the ViveTool files. Once there, type the command “vivetool /enable /id:45624564,53397005,48433719” and press Enter.
After restarting your PC, the feature should be available. The community has already started sharing their opinions on this new way of sharing files, and you can find mixed comments and discussions on its use. And were you able to try it?
