Pac-Man celebrates its 45th anniversary with Shadow Labyrinth and new licenses.
Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe celebrates Pac-Man's 45th birthday with several exciting announcements.
The cult game was 1980 For the first time, people of all ages have been released and inspired for over four decades. PAC-Man has long since grown beyond the arcade original and has spread to numerous play genres and media-as the current Secret Level-Episode and the presentation of the new title Shadow Labyrinth show.
The dark 2D action platform Shadow Labyrinth takes the end of the game into a sci-fi world, inspired by Pac-Man and legendary arcade games. On the occasion of the anniversary, a fresh look was unveiled that combines classic PAC-Man elements with modern action. The players explore a dangerous planet, accompanied by Puck – a mysterious but familiar character that is supported by tips, wisdom and special skills.
The goal: survival by researching, fighting – and eating. Only those who play at the top of the food chain are in the labyrinthical environment.
The release takes place on July 18, 2025, pre -orders are now digital for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | s, Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam) – digital standard and digital deluxe in the editions. The title will soon be digitally pre -ordered for the Nintendo Switch 2.

Shadow Labyrinth comes from the Bandai Namco Studios and combines modern jump'n'run elements with allusions to the company's rich arcade heir.
The end of the game takes on the role of Swordsman No. 8, a warrior accompanied by Puck. On their journey through the extensive, dark world, they discover powerful weapons, defeat terrifying opponents and encounter dark secrets around the planet – including its dark residents.
The game takes up typical PAC-Man mechanics such as winding corridors, chase, iconic sounds and nostalgic designs. The final: a huge final opponent with a familiar name-G host bug. As in the original, if you don't eat, you will eat.
For PAC-Man's 45th anniversary, Bandai Namco has launched numerous collaborations that are supposed to inspire fans around the globe:
- Oxo Video Game Museum (Europe): Joint exhibitions and events in Madrid and Málaga honor the game that shaped video games and pop culture.
- Montegrappa: A noble ballpoint pen in the design of the PAC-Man game from the 1980s-for collectors and fans of high-quality writing instruments.
- Quoridor: The award-winning strategy game appears in a new PAC-Man edition-a hit under board game and retro fans.
- Brio: The classic labyrinth game receives a PAC-Man version with familiar design and timeless fun.
- Glomesh: The Australian label presents a limited accessory collection in which PAC-Man characters appear in the iconic 8-bit style.
- Krispy Kreme: By June 1st there are exclusive PAC-MAN Donuts-a sweet pleasure for the anniversary.
- Candy: A colorful beverage collection soon appears, inspired by pop music-with Pac-Man as a cult figure on the label.
- Leblon Delienne: The French sculpture workshop will launch detailed collector statues with PAC-Man characters this year.
- Little Lion Entertainment: The PAC-Man Live Experience-a life-size, interactive lighting labyrinth-was awarded the Licensing International Excellence Award. After great success in Manchester, the attraction has now also been opened in Dubai.
