We know AMD has been developing its answer to Nvidia’s Deep Learning Super Sampling (or DLSS) for a while. The goal of this feature is to increase the frame rate per second while maintaining the visual quality. With AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (or FSR), the American company finally offers an alternative to the competition. And now, with the introduction to PC, the technology is available in Xbox console development kits.
In fact, Jason Ronald, one of the architects of Microsoft consoles, spoke on the subject on Twitter.
We’re excited to continue our close collaboration with AMD and see what developers can do with the FidelityFX Super Resolution technology, available today in our SDK for Windows, Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One offers a preview.

FSR is designed to allow developers to easily increase the frame rate and resolution on both PCs and consoles. The functionality is only available on the kits, it will be necessary to be patient before the first few games benefit from it.
