The Nintendo Switch 2 is also supported by Microsoft and its Xbox Game Studios.
Microsoft's Gaming-CEO Phil Spencer has confirmed that Xbox will support the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 with its own games.
In an interview with Gamerag Radio, Spencer mentioned that he congratulated Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa on the announcement of the new console and emphasized: “I look forward to supporting you with the games we have.”
This statement is in line with Microsoft's latest strategy to make more titles available on various platforms. As early as February 2024, Xbox announced to publish games like Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush, Sea of Thieves and Grounded for PlayStation and Nintendo Switch.
Matt Booty confirmed As early as June 2024, for example, the publication of Sea of Thieves also brought new players to the Xbox and since then the active player numbers have risen again on the Xbox. Thus, an inflow of PlayStation players also seems to ensure that games like Sea of Thieves are played more active again.
Phil Spencer did not yet want to reveal which games are planned for the Nintendo Switch 2. However, it can be assumed that Call of Duty will be there, as Microsoft promised this when taking over. Likewise, titles like Doom: The Dark Ages, Diablo IV and more are conceivable. Rumors state that even Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Starfield and other titles for Switch 2 will appear.
In the interview, Spencer emphasized the importance of Nintendo in the game industry and expressed his admiration for its innovations. He was confident about the success of the Switch 2 and underlined the intention of supporting the platform with Xbox games.
