The Valve platform purchasing process has been updated with a message that purchasing a digital product grants a license to use the product on SteamAlthough this is already known, this type of clarification was only reserved for the terms and conditions section.

This change comes shortly after the state of California, United States, approved a law which prohibits digital stores from using terms such as “buy” unless it is explained to users that they are buying a license that can expire at any time.

The digital dilemma
