iOS 17.2 arrives with some exciting new features, including secret improvements Apple didn’t tell you about.
We now have iOS 17.2 available for download on our iPhones and it’s an update that contains new features, some of which we’ve been requesting for years. However, There are many new secret features in iOS 17.2 that Apple hasn’t officially revealed and they are also very interesting, in addition to the 10 security errors that this update fixes.
New secret features of iOS 17.2
We are faced with a update loaded with new features and many of them are somewhat hidden. Here are some of the secret new features in iOS 17.2:
- TV app: Apple has removed separate tabs for movies and TV shows in the Store section of the TV app on iPhone and iPad.
- iTunes app– The option to purchase and access shows and movies through the iTunes Store app has been removed, users are now redirected to the TV app.
- FaceTime– If you join a FaceTime call that includes a contact you’ve blocked, you’ll now see a warning.
- Weather app– Precipitation for the next 10 days is now displayed to provide more information about upcoming rain and snow conditions. There is also a snapshot of the wind map showing the wind pattern and animations for the next 24 hours.
- Books– There is a new option called “Fast Fade” for the page turn animation in the Books app.
- Memoji: Apple added a “Body” section when creating a Memoji where users can customize height, bust, shoulders and arms.
- New Memoji poses– In addition to the new body options for Memoji, you will see three new poses in the preview when adjusting clothes.
- Siri– In iOS 17.2, Assistant can access data from the Health app and therefore can provide details such as your heart rate or the steps you took today. It can also tell you what your current altitude is.
- Slow device alert: iPhone 15 Pro can record ProRes videos directly to an external device and starting with iOS 17.2, a new message appears when external recording does not work due to a slow USB-C cable.
- Qi2 support: iOS 17.2 adds Qi2 support to iPhone 13 and iPhone 14, allowing them to work with wireless chargers using the Qi2 standard.
- bubble wallpapers: Bubble wallpapers released in iOS 7 return to iPhone with iOS 17.2, after being removed in iOS 17.
Very interesting news arriving with iOS 17.2, the second major update of iOS 17. However, there are others that remain in the works, Apple has confirmed that two iOS 17 features are delayed until 2024, so we won’t see them until iOS 17.3.
