The new Disney+ plan could arrive at the end of 2022!
The large supply of streaming services is already starting to take its toll. After the Netflix subscriber crisis was uncovered a few weeks ago, other services started sharing strategies and future plans to keep their users. Surprisingly, and after a year exceeding growth expectations, even Disney+ announced a subscription plan with advertisementsmore economical.
The launch of the scheme has been confirmed for the end of 2022
In the absence of details on the next subscription to Disney + advertisements, analysts of certain media are already venturing to predict the characteristics of the next available plan.
Disney+ Ads Subscription Terms
According to Variety and Wall Street Journal analysts, the advertising subscription offer will be at least four criteria for its implementation:
- Film and TV series chapters from a duration of 60 minutes or less will have ads for 4 minutes.
- Ads will offer family contenttherefore in line with the philosophy of Disney +.
- There will be no advertisements on competing services.
- Ads will not run on content intended for preschool audiences.
That number of ads exceeds that of Disney-owned Hulu, which airs between nine and 12 ads per hour.
Currently, Disney + offers a single package at 8.99 dollars per month, this price keeps it as one of the most expensive streaming services, on par with HBO for the same value. Disney says it added 7.9 million new subscribers last quarter, bringing its subscriber base to about 44 million people in the United States and Canada.
In comparison, Apple TV + ranks among the cheapest, with 4.99 dollars per month. Netflix begins its offer with a standard package at 7.99 dollars. A note to employees indicates that Netflix could follow in Disney+’s footsteps and roll out an ad-supported tier this year and is also working on a live streaming option.
Interestingly, the absence of ads was seen as one of the benefits of using streaming services, now it might be the biggest draw for subscribers.
