The pocket computer called smartphone that almost all of us carry with us is used to do many, many things, and among them is the possibility of watching all kinds of audiovisual content: from videos stored in the memory of our Android to series and movies on streaming services, also while watching TV. Yeah, you can watch live tv without tunerusing apps for it.
A quick search on Google Play gives us a lot of results on useful apps for watching TV, but after trying them, we may find apps that don’t work or have too many ads. We decided to stay with nine that workThey don’t overuse advertising and offer good live and on-demand content. Specify here that we wanted to list official appssaving the latest alternative, which comes from a developer and has released their application as free code.
RTVE Play
RTVE has spent many years investing in good mobile apps and although it has cost them the app they have right now to see content on demand It has everything you would expect from a public service television: no need to register to access content, if you are on a WiFi network you can send content to a Chromecast, etc.
The selection of content is very wide and serves both to watch the channel’s own series as well as other types of more informative content such as sports, documentaries, news or historical archives if nostalgia takes us. It’s free and does not contain any type of advertising.

The official Vodafone TV app has a good number of channels and lets you view the lineup, as well as having the ability to send content from your mobile or tablet to the TV and vice versa. Both TNT channels are available, such as La 1, Antena 3 or LaSexta, as well as cinema and series channels, see AXN or FOX.

ATREplayer
Atresmedia Player is an application that encompasses all the content of this communication group. That’s to say, Antena 3, La Sexta, Nova, mega, A3Series, Neox, Onda Cero and Europa FM. It offers us the possibility to see what is broadcast live as well as previous programs.
Of course, what we cannot do is see all the available catalog that is on demand. For example, with fiction series that are not self-produced, there are loose and messy episodes, not all the content like you would see on Netflix for example. The application is very easy to use, it has a lot to do, it also supports Chromecast Connectivity.

Why
The other major media group in Europe has its own app to display its content. In this case, it gives us access to everything broadcast by Mediaset. In other words: Telecinco, Cuatro, Factory of Fiction, Boing, Divinity and BeMad. In this case, we do not have the possibility to listen to radio stations.
The application allows us to see both live and on-demand content, although in this second case we will also have certain limitations and not everything will be available. The Mitele app is free and contains quite a few ads, but it does the job well. On this occasion, yes. does not have chromecast support.
orange tv
Operators have taken advantage of their efforts to invest in television to also offer series and films on mobile phones. In the case of orange teleco, we have the possibility of seeing live channels and on-demand content in any of them. It also includes Chromecast support if we want to see it on a larger screen where the Orange decoder is not connected.
We also have access to the Wuaki video library to access its content and also to rent films or series. Obviously we will need have a contracted connection to be able to use the service, otherwise the application will not be of any use to us, even if it is free.

Movistar+
Movistar+ is the official teleco application so that anyone who has access to the TV content package can also watch it from their mobile. To log in, we will have to previously activate this function from the company’s website and after a while we will receive a password to enter.
The content is exactly the same as what we would have on TV: all series, the same movies and is synchronized with our favorite content so we can track it and not have to search for it again. As a Movistar user, I have to say that the app works well and although it drops and misses sporadically, it is an app that every Movistar TV user should have installed.

TDT channels
As a bonus, we are going to talk about TNT Channels, an application that has revived in the Play Store, and it is worth downloading. It is a fairly recent TNT player Developed by Marc Vila, based on an open source project. The app is completely free, ad-free and safe to watch TV on the phone.
To download it, just go to the TDTChannels website (or download it from Google Play) and download the latest APK. After installing it on your device, you will see all available channelsas well as listening to the radio. The app, as we pointed out, is updated frequently, so the sources of the channels are up-to-date, making it easy to watch without interruptions.

Pluto TV
PlutoTV is a free streaming service which integrates more than 100 live channels, as well as movies, series, documentaries and TV shows. Just like traditional TV, Pluto TV embeds ads while playing, but this keeps it free.
Its main drawback, as we mentioned, is advertising. But that doesn’t stop us enjoy it with quite popular content, and another not so much but of equal quality. Available on Android phones and TVs, it’s a good option if we’re looking to watch TV from anywhere.
