Recent reports said that Apple had improvement plans for the user interface in iPados 19, which could make the iPad Window Management a little more similar to Mac. But if you can't wait September for iPados 19, you can still turn to… Microsoft Windows.
A developer called NTDEV understood how to execute Windows 11 on an iPad Air M2. The implementation consists in using an application called UTM which has been colored on an iPad (lateral outfit is authorized in the European Union, thanks to the EU digital market law). UTM is then used to execute a Jit emulator that runs Windows 11 on the iPad. You can see it working in the NTDEV video published on YouTube.
If you don't want to monitor more than eight minutes of Windows 11 on an iPad (starting has the impression that you have to forever), NTDEV said on X that it “actually works quite decently”. The latest Windows reports that NTDEV used “a slipped version of Windows 11” made with Tiny 11, which is used to “install the operating system without Bloatware”. (I admit, I sneered with the bit “bloatware”.)
While NTDEV has made a cool demo, you probably ask why? Microsoft makes these things called PC surface 2 in 1 that run Windows much more efficiently and have a user interface with a touch screen, so why worry about Windows on an iPad? Well, NTDEV's X profile says, “Try things so that you don't have to do it”, which says everything. But if you really “need”, Windows has the steps at the end of their report on how to proceed.
