As usual, Apple should launch four new iPhone models this fall. What is unusual is how these models are likely to postpone each other in terms of design, if we believe the constant flow of leaks from credible sources.
The last of them comes from Sonny Dickson, a respected leak, although incoherent in the rumor apple. Dickson published “Your first preview of the models of the iPhone 17” on his Bluesky account on Sunday, and the images corroborate the theory that Apple will reveal three entirely different designs through the four handsets at the end of 2025.
The images allegedly show that metal models of the four iPhone 17 models to come this fall. One is larger than the rest and has three rear camera lenses, and is obviously the iPhone 17 Pro Max (or perhaps ultra); Another is smaller and also has three objectives, and is obviously the 17 pro. Yet another unit has two objectives and seems to be about the same size as the 17 pro, and we can be quite safe that it is the standard iPhone 17.
The remaining model, third on the left in most images, we can assume that the so-called iPhone 17 Air or Slim. It is thinner than the rest, without surprise, but also seems to be greater than the 17 and 17 pro. (It should have a 6.6 -inch screen, seated between the 6.1 and 6.9 inches of smaller and larger iphones respectively.) And it has only one camera lens on the back, a bit like the iPhone 16th.
Apple never launched iphones with one, two, And Three lenses at the same time, and this unusual variety is reflected in the designs of the chassis of the devices. The pro models with their three objectives have those mounted in a large raised module which extends almost over the entire width of the phone, while the iPhone 17 has its two objectives in a thin vertical module which corresponds to the appearance of the iPhone 16. However, the 17 air, unlike the iPhone 16th which does not have a camera module, has its unique lens integrated into a long horizontal bar. It will be very easy for the passer -by, which of the new phones you have bought.
All this is very interesting, but it is important to be clear that it is additional evidence which support an existing theory rather than something revolutionary. Last month, the youtuber and the Jon Prosser flight proposed the idea of the 17 pro and 17 pro max having their cameras in an extended module with little apparent goal other than to report the possession of the most recent and the largest iPhones. Ten days later, it seemed to be confirmed by the leakage of CAD images showing the same model of modules conceptions through the range we are currently examining.
So, even if it is not new, it is nevertheless precious because it helps us to get into the truth. You will hear a large number of theories through the cycle of the rumor of an iPhone launch, and many will be incorrect, either because the sources were bad or because Apple changed their mind. The longer a rumor, the more sources corroborate, the more we can believe. And with six months to travel until we see the iPhone 17 in the flesh, it begins to look like the real thing.
