On November 19, 2019, Google launched its new streaming platform platform called Stadia. The service that came did make a lot of noise but it showed that a few more months incubator didn't hurt her. In my case I was able to give it a try at a friend's house and without checking I found that Google Stadia was working fine, the fact is that you missed the great video game catalog.
But since November a few months have passed and Google hasn't stopped working in Stadia. New features and video game lists make Stadia more attractive than anything we could try at the time. In addition, the company Big G has decided to offer all users (new and registered) two months of Stadia Pro completely. More time to fully explore Google's service and enjoy a special little gear in its catalog.
Gylt: a small Tequila Works gem that you should try Google Stadia for
Gylt is one of the "free" games we can enjoy in this two months of Stadia Pro. Article by Spanish studio Tequila Works, developers of the precious Rime and only available on the Google platform. The first thing to say is that this game is launched concurrently with Google Stadia and there are few complete analytics to find in this game online. That said, in this article you won't find anything new to write, what else, I haven't even committed to analyzing games, but as a video game enthusiast I feel obligated to do this review about Gylt even if it's a little late.
Because like so many others, I've taken advantage of Stadia Pro's two-month free offer to continue exploring the platform, not for nothing in the middle of a "free" game catalog than a couple who would like me, among them Gylt. A terrifying and terrifying game involving a little girl, called in Spanish and has a background message that is as important as bullying others. Is it worth trying the Google Stadia for Gylt only?
True monsters are where you least expect
Gylt's story is quite simple. We are Sally, a guided girl from a mining town in North America. A peaceful town that is already torn down by the sudden disappearance of Emily, the prosecutor's cousin. Weeks have passed since the last girl was seen and locals have stopped looking for her. Sally no and so we started the game, sticking posters around different places in the area.
That all changes when Sally decides to go home and she is shocked by some bumps from her school. Normal kids who go out in a group and are dedicated to intimidating the weak. In her escape, Sally ends up breaking her bike, so she has to go back to town somehow. He doesn't want to meet those sales people anymore. The strange thing is that when he comes to town at night there is nothing like it before. The roads are empty, the cars are broken and they are ruining the roads. It looks like an earthquake is shaking the city.
The strange thing is when Sally thinks she sees Emily inside the school. Of course our protagonist is reluctant to come to his rescue, heading straight for the closed building. But what he finds inside will shock him. The school (and other nearby places) is filled with strange creatures, monsters who will not hesitate to attack little Sally once they find her and seem to be in danger of the flashlight of the girls. Because we're actually a little girl and not a hero, so our only expensive weapons, cans for drinking and a flashlight with a never-ending battery. Will we be able to save Emily?
Gylt is more than a horror game
On paper Gylt is a terrible and stubborn game. We should hide from enemies, lure them by throwing cans at strategic places or attacking them in vulnerable parts of their bodies by the light of our torch, as long as we have a battery of them. The problem is that as a scary and challenging game it lags behind many other similar games
The intelligence of the enemy is not too long and that avoiding monsters is much easier than it initially seems. Their movement patterns are very basic and can be seen and in the end it all comes down to this: dropping the enemy barrel to move somewhere else and being able to get in through the door where you are looking or moving cautiously between tables and desks taking advantage of blind spots on these creatures.
Sometimes we will have to deal with these huge monsters and this time we will only use our weapon, a torch. If it's the only enemy we find, it will be easy to get rid of it. In the case of many of us we will have a very complicated experience because it will be time to flee, but this rarely happens. There is also a clash with management. These are far greater enemies than the average enemy, with extremely sophisticated and stunning designs (We have already mentioned that the nature of Gylt's renovation and art style is one of the most appealing.) The disadvantage is that its difficulty is not too high and in the end its equipment is simple, such as: if the enemy is on fire he will have to use only water.
The fact is that as a bizarre and awesome game Gylt can be behind other similar titles despite being in excellent shape, but that Gytl is more than a horror game
The story of bullying
"This game is about sensitive topics. If you have been abused and need help, please consult a professional". This is the message we see every time we launch Gylt and it gives us an idea of where the game's plot is. Sally runs away at the start of a certain pull-up at her school, Emily hasn't been seen for weeks and we find her running from "nightmares" inside the school without forgetting all the messages we find written on the wall and in blackboards in classrooms: nobody cares, we're watching you etc.
School bullying unfortunately afflicts millions of children around the world as well Gylt simply uses the excuses of terrorism and satanism to tell the story of school bullying. Because as we go through the story of the game and from exploring all aspects of schooling, we realize that we are not only playing an easy way to survive, but we are dealing with millions of children who suffer every time they go to school and must run away or hide from all those monsters that pass through the corridors of schools and institutions around the world.
In conclusion Gylt is a game worth trying for Google Stadia. It's not a long or hard game and although you can play for something extra, just for trying on such a controversial topic as bullying should pay attention to us, especially now that we can enjoy ourselves completely for free.
